Dear Dad

Dear Dad;

You are an inspiration and I love when you make jokes, even dad jokes. You have demonstrated what it means to grow as a person, as you have grown as a father to myself, Neta, Abe and Brenda. Thank you for taking the time and going to classes to learn what it means to be the best dad you can be. Thank you for showing me what it means to go out of your comfort zone and participate in events in the community, I don’t know if I would have become the person I am if I hadn’t been voluntold by you as many times as I was and continue to be.

Thank you for showing me what a good work ethic looks like. I am proud to work with you and I’m proud of how you were able to grow at your place of work and climb the ladder to be where you are today. You’ve gone above and beyond to be able to provide a safe life for your family. I know growing up I was difficult to deal with, I remember the night you didn’t know if I was going to make it and you sat by my bed all night so in case I wasn’t going to pull through, so I wasn’t going to go alone. My throat chocks up every time I think about what I put you and the family through. I know it was only by God’s grace and your patience that I am where I am now.

Thank you for giving me the resources I needed to succeed. You didn’t have to, but I am grateful you did. I was able to go to college and find a job I am successful in. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and beliefs with me, time and time again you’ve shown me what it means to look out for another person whether it’s your spouse, family member or co-worker.

Dad, thank you for caring for mom. She’s a strong woman who is as delicate as a flower. Thank you for supporting her and providing a life for her that no matter her health situation she has been able to pull through. I know she is tough and I don’t want to take that away from her, but if I was in her shoes I don’t know if I would have been able to be as optimistic and have such drive to move forward without Jake.

I hope you never doubt yourself as a father because I don’t doubt you’ve always done the best you can do. You’ve been an unparalleled dad, thank you for continuously providing for your family.

With so much love,

Your Eldest Daughter
